![]() ![]() When you're the Emperor, you don't have to give any reasons for stomping on kittens. There's no word from Apple on why they chose to kill all of the Free Memory apps. Since this latest kerfuffle has forced Bjango to release a feature-limited version of iStat for iPhone, the company has reduced the price to US$1.99. Bjango (the iPhone arm of iSlayer) has kindly posted instructions for how to use version 1.0 to keep the function intact, but we're all wondering why Apple decided to axe all apps that performed this useful function. Open up the Finder, click Applications on the left side, and then select iStat Menus 4.06. Reinstall iStat Menus and select Uninstall from the iStat Menus menu. Option 1: Drag iStat Menus 4.06 icon to the Trash. Uninstalling iStat Menus To uninstall the Mac App Store version of iStat Menus, please click the pause button to the right of the Global text in the top tab, then quit and drag the iStat Menus. Try resetting PRAM and SMC, different for each Mac model. When running iStat Menus for the first time, check Open at Login if you’d like iStat Menus to be launched every time your Mac starts up. As a result, iStat for iPhone version 1.1 was released with the Free Memory function removed. I think iStats is just a sensor and doesn’t have the ability to throttle anything. Apple, taking on the role of Emperor Palpatine with gusto, recently forced all iPhone developers to remove or retool apps that use a Free Memory function to display memory usage and/or clear out wired or inactive memory. While iStat's developer, iSlayer, has resolved this disturbance in The Force, there's still a dark and evil presence in the universe. You can download it for free, although a donation is requested. The new Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard compatible version is running just fine, and less than a week of darkness filled the hearts of all of those who love iStat Menus. Use automatically removal solution to remove iStat Menus in your macOS. I then downloaded and installed iSM 3.16, rebooted, and got exactly the same problem - no Sensor drop down, with or without having the iSM screen open on Sys Prefs. Switch to Finder and select Go -> Applications from the Finder menu. I used the Uninstall option on the iStat Menu v2,0 to remove the app, searched for and manually removed all iStat Menu data, emptied the Trash, restarted the computer.
